Abstract
In Colombia, the existing information regarding studies of memory and daily life is limited; because most of the investigations that revolve around memory emphasize historical memory, that is, those that have to do with the relationships that occur in the context of conflicts, mainly those that have to do with violence , leaving aside the studies related to the experiences and memories, manifested in the sociocultural forms of the populations in the past.
In addition, most of the works of reconstruction of the past of the municipalities in the Colombian territory rescue the fragments of their history through an official History, which narrates some relevant events and important characters for their population, avoiding the reconstruction of their past through of the stories of every day, of its people, of their personal relationships and of the construction of meanings in their daily life, which enhances the daily life that surrounds them, and which is part of their own historical evolution.
And it is in this sense that the doctoral research "The mists of memory: From oblivion and memory to the recovery of the daily life of Falan (Tolima)" appeared, which marked its path under the line of research "Memory, experience and belief” of the Doctorate in Social Studies of the Francisco José de Caldas District University of Bogotá (Colombia).
For this case, the studies of Memory and the studies of Daily Life were correlated, in order to give life to a different reconstruction of the past, which allowed showing the presence of the daily life of those ordinary men and women, who have formed part of the past of the populations, and that, from the different ways of being, doing and living, has been unnoticed in the official history of the peoples, being sometimes relegated to oblivion.
It should be noted that the geographical space in which the research was focused was Falan, a municipality located in the north of the department of Tolima, in Colombia. A place that was founded under the marks of the search for gold and silver in the Colombian central mountain range, and that, hidden in the summits of its mountains, outlined ways of building the daily life of its inhabitants.
