Globalization has generated significant changes in the nature and use of nation states’ political power. In an era of increasing interdependence,development issues have gone beyond national boundaries and acquire a transnational character. This article aims at analyzing the important changes on power relations between actors in this asymmetric and globalized time. We conclude that global transformations are not only a challenge but also an opportunity to promote coordinated, collective and democratic global governance.
