Abstract

In the reception and appropriation that is being done of Lonergan's work in Latin America, it's convenient to have as another starting point and as theme itself, his reflections about the community. The present work searches, in first instance, to emphasize how the problematic of the community as subject is withdrawn inside de revolutionary turns that Lonergan followed undertaking between 1957 and 1982. In second place, the notion of subjectivity will be approached as such, to justify, later on the nature of the community as subject. Once the dialectic nature of it has been precised, the dynamism self measuring and mutually self measuring of the community will be briefly described; flnally, the matter of politic dimension of the community will be treated as it is legitimate power carrier. Our purpose, clearly expositive, could introduce Lonergan's ideas in the contemporary communitarist debate and suggest a relevant dialectic in it.
