Resumo

Este artigo mostra que a Responsabilidade Social Empresarial (RSE) é um campo de estudo dentro da disciplina da administração (management) que evolui de uma forma “progressiva” orientada pela racionalidade experimental. Primeiro são rastreados os artigos seminais sobre a RSE dentro do management e as pesquisas sobre a evolução, a origem e as consequências da RSE; depois é revisada a bibliografia dos artigos sobre RSE publicados em revistas acadêmicas de alto impacto. A análise bibliográfica indica que a RSE se converteu efetivamente em um campo de estudo específico que evoluiu do normativo ao positivo e experimental.
