Abstract
The intention of this article is to bring to light thecontribution that the composer Amando BlanquerPonsoda made to the Alcoy Composition of FestivalMusic Competition through the stylistic andmusical analysis of the pasodoble Musical Apolo(1956) and the Moorish March L’Embaixador (Theambassador) (1959) which were both awardedfirst prize in the aforementioned competition.The musical analysis which has been used hasfocused mainly on the most important elementsof festival music which are: rhythm, melodyand form without leaving aside other elementssuch as harmony and instrumentation. The elementsof rhythm, melody and form constitutethe core of the musical analysis. We believe thatthese premises are fundamental if we are toobtain a significant enough level of informationwhich allows us to draw definitive conclusions.
