Abstract

In pursue of constructing the political arena in the latter modernity, Boaventura de Sousa Santos' and Chantal Mouffe's proposals are articulated in this essay. Needing to overcome modern logics of thought on politics and legitimacy, to meet the present and recognize multiplicities wove throughout social tissue are required. In this course, Ricœur's view on recognition urges to incorporate a pluralist and agonic conception of politics, as well as a criticism of some modern prejudices that would prevent us from thinking of various, rich and thick language games which are woven around democracy in our days.
