During 2007, the International Center for Business and Exhibitions (Corferias) organized, within the framework of the First Meeting of Responsibility and Social Development, the First International Forum 'Colombia Responsable'. On that occasion, the theme was focused on knowing, enriching and taking advantage of the experiences, developments and opportunities that, in the field of social responsibility, different entities of the public and private sectors have advanced on a local, national and international level and their mutual alliances with a view to social development and global sustainability, within the perspective of compliance with the Millennium Development Goals, proposed by the United Nations (UN).

In this second version, carried out from June 24 to 26, 2009, the interest in the experiences of public and private entities was maintained, but its axis was the Global Compact, a UN management instrument that promotes the social dialogue for the creation of a global corporate citizenship in search of the conciliation of the interests of companies, bearing in mind the values ​​and demands of civil society. Specifically, the Second International Forum emphasized labor standards, employment and work in the current environment in socially responsible companies.
